Israel had already discussed his position with House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi and, just last week, with President Barack Obama.

The Congressman said he realizes that publicly taking the position against the deal at this time “might influence other members of the House.”

With the three members announcing today bringing the total to seven House Democrats who will vote against the Iran deal. The vote is scheduled to take place when the House returns from recess in September. Before that happens, 37 more House Democrats are needed to ensure an override of President Obama’s promised veto of a vote against the deal.

As Republicans control a majority of the Senate, all eyes are on the House to see whether enough Democrats come out against the deal.
