Arab Rioters Injure Tourists in Jerusalem’s Old City

Thursday, October 30th, 2014

Arab rioters threw firecrackers at Border Police in the Old City in Jerusalem Thursday and lightly wounded at least one tourist.

Police arrested one Arab youth.

Earlier in the day, Arabs hurled rocks at a bus in eastern Jerusalem. No property damage or injuries were reported, and one Arab was arrested.

In the Jabel Mukaber Arba neighborhood, next to the Jewish area of Armon HaNatziv, Arab youth clashed with police, who dispersed the rioters.

Netanyahu Proposes Stiff Jail Sentences for Rock-Throwing Terrorists

Monday, October 27th, 2014

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told senior officials on Monday to prepare a new law that would call for up to 20 years in jail for attacks cars and people with rocks and for economic sanctions on parents of offenders who are minors.

Anyone who has been on the receiving end of a rock, as most residents in Judea and Samaria outside of Maaleh Adumim have been, knows the sound of the body of their cars being smacked, a window smashed , or their own bodies being bloodied and their bones broken by rocks.

In the best possible scenario, the driver is able to continue to driving, often with one less window. In the worst possible case, the terrorist, often a teenager, gets “lucky” and the driver is killed after being struck by the rock or flying glass and losing control of the vehicle until it crashes.

In between there are hundreds of cases of people having being wounded, often for life.

Arabs popularized throwing rocks in the beginning of the intifada more than 25 years ago. They won great headlines for causing havoc on the highways and being faced by rifle-toting soldiers.

It is the kind of David and Goliath story that foreign media love, especially when it can disgrace Israel.

“Proportionate” response, the favorite policy of the West when the Arabs are losing, would require soldiers and police to lay down their weapons and throw rocks back at the youth.

But that won’t help because then the media would complain that the Israelis have an unfair edge, deploying adults against children. Furthermore, the police wear protective gear. It’s not a fair fight if Israeli wins.

Netanyahu has come up with a better weapon than guns – jail. Throwing rocks at passing cars is attempted murder, nothing more and nothing less.

The police and IDF have arrested thousands of rock throwers. Most of them are released after detention or simply given a slap on the wrist by the judicial system, which goes to the extreme to avoid convicting a minor for disturbing the peace.

Netanyahu’s directive would change that, assuming Peace Now does not win an appeal to the Supreme Court that jailing rock-throwers violates their human rights.

Tel Aviv Follows US Model and Bans School Trips to Western Wall

Sunday, October 26th, 2014

Tel Aviv has ordered a school to cancel Bar Mitzvah an eighth-grade Bar Mitzvah trip to the Western Wall in Jerusalem because of “the security situation in Jerusalem.”

City Hall explained that the cancellation of the Bar Mitzvah trip “includes tours of some of the places where violence has recently erupted.”

It turns out ”some places” means Ammunition Hill, the spokeswoman for Tel Aviv told The Jewish Press. The site is one of the most popular places for visitors because of a fierce and deadly battle there against the Jordanian army in the Six-Day War in 1967.

There have been no riots at Ammunition Hill. Nor there have been any Arabs throwing rocks there.

Someone in Tel Aviv must have looked at the map and noticed that Ammunition Hill is two or three minutes from the part of the route of the light rail train that Jerusalem Arabs have targeted on a daily basis. An Arab terrorist last week raced down the path next to a train and ran over anyone in his way, killing a three-month-old baby and another victim who died today.

That doesn’t make Ammunition Hill dangerous and more than it makes an ice hockey arena dangerous because two guys are fighting each other on the ice

If Ammunition Hill were not a safe place to visit, Jerusalem schools would not send dozens of children there every day.

But let’s say that the good citizens of Tel Aviv don’t know any better and are paranoid. The school tour no doubt wanted to include a visit to Ammunition Hill on the Bar Mitzvah trip, but why did it throw out the baby with the bath water and deprive the children of the Bar Mitzvah experience at the Western Wall instead of simply taking Ammunition Hill off of the schedule?

Tel Aviv’s reaction is as if it were in the Diaspora.

Hundreds of American Jews this past summer cancelled trips to Israel because of the war against Hamas, which attacked most of Israel with missiles, even though almost all of the rockets that reached the metropolitan area were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile system.

The U.S. Embassy last week ordered its personnel not to travel on the light rail trains in Jerusalem because of the terrorist attack

The clueless and frightened ghetto-like reaction of the United States and Tel Aviv is the perfect response to encourage terrorists, who have two objectives. One is to kill Jews. The other is for Jews to go elsewhere – first Tel Aviv, and then the United States, or any other place where radical Islam has not yet taken over.

Cancelling a school trip to the Western Wall because of one nearby trouble spot makes as much sense as Jerusalem’s banning traveling to Tel Aviv because of fatal accidents on Tel Aviv’s inner city Ayalon highway or Mafia murders in broad daylight that often catch innocent bystanders in crossfire or simply target the wrong people.

Jerusalem’s deputy mayor Rachel Azaria called Tel Aviv’s ban “outrageous.”

Thousands of Jerusalem children and adults travel every day to the Western Wall. There also are visits to Ammunition Hill without incident. There is no requirement to take the light rail train..

Jerusalem Arabs Riot but Police Have the Upper Hand

Saturday, October 25th, 2014

Arabs in eastern Jerusalem resumed rioting Saturday night, and Border Police arrested four rock-throwers and firebombers in an effort to keep an upper hand and send a strong message to deter incitement for a widespread uprising.

Only one person, possibly an Arab, was injured by rock throwing.

Border Police in Beit Hanina arrested three teenagers who were spotted preparing to throw stones, and one firebomber in Silwan, across the road from the Old City, also was arrested.

Riots broke out in several neighborhoods, and Arabs continued to target the light rail system, which has become a symbol of the “enemy” even though it serves Arabs and Jewish.

Palestinian Authority violence has escalated the past several weeks, and several attacks have gone unreported.

Hamas is trying to light the match to inflame violence in eastern Jerusalem, and its senior official Mahmoud Al-Zahar said that violence is needed to put an end to “Israeli aggression.”

However, he added that Arabs in Judea and Samaria are also fighting the Ramallah-based Arab regime.

Israeli forces numbered in the hundreds Saturday night to deal with a smaller number of rioters. The situation definitely is far from calm, but so far, there is not enough fuel for a return to the widespread intifada of the late 1980s and of the Oslo War, AKA Second Intifada, that began in 2000.

The security fence has stopped deterred most terrorists, and mainstream Palestinian Authority Arabs don’t seem to have any burning desire for the establishment of the corrupt and mismanaged Palestinian Authority as a country.

They know they are more secure with Israel protecting them in case Hamas takes over.

Arab Violence in Jerusalem Forces Police to Return Law and Order

Thursday, October 23rd, 2014

Widespread violence and several riots that erupted in Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem overnight following the murder of an American-Israeli baby have forced the police to fill the vacuum that the government created with a “hands-off” policy that have left both Arab and Jewish citizens at the mercy of terrorist anarchy.

Palestinian Authority media are claiming that Wednesday’s car-light rail collision that killed three-month-old Chaye Zisel Braun was an accident and not a terrorist attack.

The driver of the car has died from his wounds, but even if police ever will be able to conclude that he was not a terrorist – despite circumstantial evidence to the contrary – he definitely was a murderer.

The response from hundreds of Arabs was more attempted murder. They wounded a driver in a rock-throwing attack in eastern Jerusalem, and dozens of other Arabs rioted in Silwan, across the street from the Western Wall.

Little children in kindergarten in the Maaleh Zeitim were targets for rock-throwers Thursday morning.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat complained after the apparent terrorist attack on Wednesday that “Jerusalem has become unbearable” and that action must be taken to quell violence.

If the good mayor had said that two or three years ago, and not today and two or three months ago, perhaps the baby killed yesterday would still be alive.

Police have tried to ignore dozens of “almost murders” in dozens if not hundreds of ambushes of Jewish motorists who have been abandoned as sitting ducks for Arab rock-throwers in narrow streets in eastern Jerusalem, part of the city that the Palestinian Authority demands as part of its would-be state.

The Arab response to the shooting of the terrorist, or killer if you wish, is typical of a culture that dates back 3,500 years to Ishmael, of whom it is written in Genesis 16:12, “And he will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be upon all, and everyone’s hand upon him, and before all his brothers he will dwell.”

Other translations are less flattering, such as a modern Christian version that Ishmael “will be a wild man, as untamed as a wild donkey! He will raise his fist against everyone, and everyone will be against him. Yes, he will live in open hostility against all his relatives.”

Of course, this smacks of racism, just as Jews are “racists” because we are the “Chosen People” and just as anyone upholding the family unit is racist, and God is a racist for not creating men so they can give birth.

The Arab culture sucks up lawlessness. Not all Bedouin are thieves, but most thieves in the Negev are Bedouin. The Be’er Sheva court’s defendants are almost entirely Bedouin.

Not all Arabs are crazy drivers, but almost every crazy driver in Judea and Samaria is an Arab. Traffic fines are useless because the drivers simply don’t pay, assuming the drivers even have a license and assuming their cars are not stolen.

Violence is a way of life in the Palestinian Authority, and whenever anyone, especially Jews, try to clamp down, they are called “occupiers” and are met with more violence.

“The Palestinian Authority does and never has had a culture of peace,” Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon wrote on his Facebook page Thursday. “It is a culture of incitement and jihad against Jews.”

The Palestinian Authority has educated an entire generation to believe in terrorism, and the chance of widespread revolution cannot be totally dismissed, but it is highly unlikely.

The idea of a Palestinian Authority state, especially one that would pre-1967 neighborhoods in eastern, southern and northern Jerusalem, never has excited anyone except the sheikhs in Saudi Arabia and the Western no-nothings in Paris, Brussels, Oslo and Washington. The only thing that excites them is a chance to attack Jews.

Police always try to play down media inciters screaming “Intifada, Intifada” on a slow news day when they remember their agenda is to force a Palestinian Authority state down the throats of Israelis while they still are alive.

Another Jerusalem Bus Attacked

Sunday, October 19th, 2014

Bus #177 to Maaleh Adumim was attacked on Sunday evening by rock throwers.

Two passengers were hit in the head. One of the injured passengers was evacuated to a hospital, the second refused treatment.

The attack occurred approximately 50 meters before the tunnels to Maaleh Adumim near Mount Scopus and the Mount of Olives.

A passenger on the bus told JewishPress.com that there have been previous stoning attacks in this area.

Another Ambush in Jerusalem as Media Ignores ‘Silent Intifada’

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014

Arab rioters attacked Jewish motorists in eastern Jerusalem Tuesday night in what has become a “silent intifada” thanks to establishment media’s generally ignoring frequent violence.

Arab rioters attacked several cars whose occupants were on their way on the eve of Hoshana Raba, the last day of Sukkot, to learn Torah at the “Beit HaHoshen,” in the heart of a hostile and almost entirely Arab neighborhood above Wadi Joz in eastern Jerusalem.

Shuki Set wrote on the Rotter.net website that he and his son were driving to Beit HaHoshen when they got stuck in a traffic jam, a ready-made setting for Arab violence.

“Arabs suddenly struck our car with rocks at point-blank range,” he wrote. “The kicked the car and smashed the side mirrors, but there was nowhere to flee. We simply stood there like sitting ducks, hoping we would not be physically harmed.

“Suddenly, one of the rioters heaved a huge rock and smashed the back window.”

The driver barely was able to escape the ambush, and he called the police. He discovered that there were other families who were on their way to learn and who also were attacked.

“This Jerusalem!” he wrote. [It is] two minutes from Hebrew University. Where are the police” Where are the authorities?

“I never felt so ashamed and helpless in my life.

“I hope the government will start to exercise its sovereignty over our capital. If we don’t stop this erosion in Beit Hanina, the rioters will get to the Mount of Olives and then Rehavia,” an upscale neighborhood near downtown Jerusalem.

We have news for Shuki. Arab attacks on Jews traveling to and from the Mount of Olives as well as the nearby Maaleh Zeitim neighborhood are almost daily events.

The establishment rarely report on them.

Why?

Because their agenda is that “United Jerusalem” includes Ramot and Gilo, maybe Talpiot, Pisgat Ze’ev and French Hill, but does not include anywhere else where Jews live in eastern, southern and northern Jerusalem.

The media silence is somewhat reminiscent of the Arab violence in Gush Katif from the 1990s until the day in the summer of 2005 that the Sharon administration expelled 9,000 Jews from Gaza and withdrew the entire military, down to the last soldier.

The establishment newspapers, website and TV and radio stations only reported violence when someone was killed or badly injured, and they twisted the reportage to push their agenda that things would be a lot more peaceful if the Jews simply would go away.

Even the media snobs in Tel Aviv know today that the result was they also had to hide in bomb shelters to protect themselves from missiles fired in Gaza.

If Israel’s media and political leaders really had learned the lesson, they would not ignore the daily violence in eastern Jerusalem that, thanks to the self-muzzling, has become a “silent intifada.”

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu last week finally broke the silence and ordered police to crack down on Arab attackers “to ensure the safety of Jerusalem.”

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat occasionally stands up and makes a nice speech that the police are not doing enough to protect Jews in eastern Jerusalem.

Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch, arguably one of the worst ministers ever to hold the portfolio, insists that his office has zero tolerance towards the rioters” and that hundreds of arrests have been carried out.

Arrests usually end up in in the revolving door, but he often claims violence is on the decrease. He usually does so at almost the same time rioters prove him wrong.

The attitude of the establishment media was best-expressed in a recent editorial in Haaretz, the left-wing bastion to which foreign media turn for their “knowledge” of Israel.
