This coming Sunday, Israel’s government is set to hold a special cabinet session in the Golan Heights, during which ministers will help lay the cornerstone for ‘Ramat Trump’ – the new town being named for President Donald Trump.

In a parallel session, the Knesset will vote to make the new name official.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making good on a promise made in April to name a town on the Golan Heights after the American president after the Trump administration formally recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the region.

Also expected to attend the event will be U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and top regional officials in the Golan Heights.
