The Middle East Adviser for The Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations, Israel Nitzan, made the following statement at the Security Council late last night, after the UNSC voted down a Resolution to force Israel to end the “occupation” of “Palestine.”

The Resolution failed to obtain the necessary nine votes in the Security Council. Only two nations voted against the Resolution: Australia and the United nations. But five abstained from the vote, including the United Kingdom. France was amongst the nations voting in favor of the Resolution.

Nitzan’s statement was short and to the point:

The Palestinians have found every possible opportunity to avoid direct negotiations. They have engaged in a never-ending string of political games and now they are parading into this Council with preposterous unilateral proposals.I have news for the Palestinians – you cannot agitate and provocate your way to a state.

I urge the Council to stop indulging the Palestinians and put an end to their march of folly.
