Train Posters Citing Tutu, Urging End to US Aid to Israel

Naturally, they posted them in Harlem, where the big decisions about U.S. aid are made.

A display of fairly insulting posters along the platforms at 25 Metro-North train stations went up this week, calling for an end to “apartheid” by stopping U.S. aid to Israel, WABC News reported.

If you stayed home for Passover, you were spared these unsightly messages – but they’ll be there tomorrow morning, on your way to work, if you travel from suburban New York and Connecticut,.

A group called American Muslims for Palestine paid for the billboards, which are displayed at 25 Metro-North stations. But the true force behind the latest effort to soil Israel’s name is—you guessed it—all Jewish.

“The campaign against U.S. aid for Israel targets neither Jews nor Passover, but rather Israeli apartheid and injustice. And the best way to honor Passover, which celebrates Jewish liberation from ancient oppression, is to champion Palestinian human rights today,” said Michael Letwin of Jews for Palestinian Right of Return, who spoke at Tuesday’s launch of the billboards at the Metro North Harlem station.

Naturally, they posted them in Harlem, where the big decisions about U.S. aid are made.

The ads call for the end of U.S. aid to Israel and call the treatment of Palestinians in the disputed territories “apartheid.”

A quote from Bishop Desmond Tutu is featured at the top of the billboard, where he says how distressed he has been since his visit to the Holy Land.

You can read the full article (Apartheid in the Holy Land), it truly comes across as the ramblings of a tired old man, regurgitating the cliches he has been fed, combining them with familiar resentments: “And how did it come about that Israel was collaborating with the apartheid government on security measures?” he wonders, betraying the sad fact that the realities of an embattled Israel in the early 1970s are still his measure of today’s realities.

There are no suicide bombers in Tutu’s view of history, no Jewish graves, no massacred families, only suffering Palestinians. He condemns Israel’s action in Judea and Samaria, following the massacre of the Park Hotel in Netanya on the seder night, April, 2002. Tutu writes: “The military action of recent days, I predict with certainty, will not provide the security and peace Israelis want; it will only intensify the hatred.”

Wrong. In 2002 the IDF, once and for all, broke down the terrorist infrastructure and either killed or threw most of the thugs in jail. What followed was a period of growing prosperity for Judea and Samaria Arabs, and a tight hold of the IDF on Arab terrorism.

The good bishop would have had Israel just lie there and turn the other cheek. In that he follows a long tradition of church leaders.

Antisemitism is such an ever shifting thing. They used to call for our heads because we were racially impure, now it turns out we’re the new racists.

The ads feature a disclaimer by the MTA stating the agency does not endorse the views expressed. That’s when the ads are in favor of killing Jews (or leaving them defenseless so someone else would do the killing). In cases when Jews try to fight back with their own, anti-Jihadist ads, as in the case of Pamela Geller, the same MTA fights them tooth and nail.

  1. This is vomitacious – barfacious, inflammatory, based on sheer spuriousness, injurious, and downright disgustingly damning and dangerous. Poppycock. This is taking “Freedom of Speech” and morphing it into falsities.

  2. Tutu is sooo incredibly important in the US… not at all. Sit back, take a baby aspirin, and consider the middle east and America without Israel. Not for “religious” reasons, but others like technology and security. The Arabs can offer only instability, insecurity bordering on insanity, and jihad.

Why don't tutu go back to south africa and straighten his country out. He has no idea what the hell he is talking about.

  5. Adam Greenfield says:

    Maybe Desmond Tutu should worry more about this;

“South Africa has the most rapes per capita of anywhere in the world. 3,600 rapes happen in South Africa every day. 40% percent of South African women will be raped. In one survey, 1 in 4 men admitted to being rapists. 1 in 10 of those admitted to raping little girls. Children are believed to be the victims of 41% of the rapes in the country.

28% of the schoolgirls in one area were HIV positive and where 1 in 3 girls have been sexually assaulted before their 18th birthday. A third of pregnant women have been found to be HIV positive making it a curse that is being passed on to the next generation.” http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/7-year-old-girl-raped-to-death-in-south-africa/

Let’s just pretend Apartheid is actually happening in Israel. Tutu’s home of South Africa is not making a good case for ending it. But as we all know it isn’t happening in Israel, although Apartheid is actually happening in the rest of the Middle East, most of Africa like in In Nigeria where Boko Haram, an Islamist group, has destroyed 50 of the 52 Catholic churches in a single diocese.

  6. Adam Greenfield says:

As a real inspirational Black Leader once said, “. . . You declare, my friend, that you do not hate the Jews, you are merely ‘anti-Zionist.’ And I say, let the truth ring forth from the high mountain tops, let it echo through the valleys of God’s green earth: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews–this is God’s own truth.

“Anti-semitism, the hatred of the Jewish people, has been and remains a blot on the soul of mankind. In this we are in full agreement. So know also this: anti-Zionist is inherently antisemitic, and ever will be so…” http://www.messiahnj.org/mlking.htm

    Brilliant response by Yori.
Why don't tutu go on Palmediawatch to see the genocidal Terroristinians he supports.
Tutu should know, there is a difference between terrorism and defense of innocents.
Israel targets terrorists, Israeli civilian deaths are the Palestinians goal.
    Big difference

Hamas and the PLO derive their legitimacy by killing Israeli secretaries and high schoolers.

  8. Adam Greenfield says:

Islam is the teaching of violence and conquest. No nation, especially one that champions freddom could be a safe neighbor to an Islamist nation.

  9. Ken Kelso says:

The Arabs continually initiate the violence. The Israelis have not fired the first shots.
Do the Palestinians expect not to be fired back on? Its ok for them to blow up school kids on buses, shopping malls, disco's, pizzeria's and Passover seders.
Someone please explain to me how the Israelis could possibly live next to such a violent people. I personally don't see how it can be done at this point. All I see is the Palestinians provoking war and using any method they can to get all of Israel.
It seems that after 5 decades of terror and murder against Israel.
The Palestinians might have realized that this campaign of terrorism and rejectionism has failed.
By the way, how many Muslims have been killed by Muslims this week in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Bahrain, Lebanon, Somalia, Yemen? How many have been killed by Jews? Numbers please.
    As Usual Tutu is silent.

  10. Ken Kelso says:

Over the past 20 years, we've seen what the Palestinians have done with the autonomy generously granted to them by Israel.

They've slaughtered Israeli grandmothers and toddlers, pregnant women and elderly rabbis. They've set off their nail-studded, rat poison-laced bombs in shopping malls, disco's, pizzeria's, cafe's and university cafeterias.
They've turned school buses into blazing infernos, invaded home and shot mothers and children in their beds. They've dragged 13-year-old boys to caves and stoned them to death. They've beheaded 3 month old Jewish babies.

Those who don't actually pull the triggers, detonate the bombs or do the stoning, celebrate the atrocities in the streets of Ramallah and Jenin, as they danced in those same streets when other Arabs crashed two planes into the World Trade Center. These sadists even built an exhibition celebrating the Sbarros massacre.

When do you think the Arabs will realize, that murdering Israeli pizza-eaters, dance-club people, school kids, teenagers and sleeping five-year-olds is barbaric?

Do these Arabs have any humanity.

It is becoming increasingly obvious, that the followers of Muhammed are not human beings.

http://www.palwatch.org is all Tutu needs to see.

South Africa is the leading country in the world for women getting raped.

South Africa, once called ‘the world’s rape capital,’ is running out of rape kits.

    This comment was the best.
There are no suicide bombers in Tutu’s view of history, no Jewish graves, no massacred families, only suffering Palestinians.

  13. There's one thing I know about Ol' Des: he lives in a gated community with 24-hour security, not in Soweto.

  14. tutu is up to his mouth in corruption. he's just a crook paid to be a puppet for the arabs. anyone who isn't aware of this is too ignorant and anti-semitic to want be informed about des picable tutu.

  15. Tutu was and is a virulent anti-Semite. Jews were in the forefront of the civil right movements and now the black population in the USA is 80% anti-Semitic according to the Anti-Defamation League. This is gratitude!
Metro North should immediately remove this racist poster, shame on them.
    Holocaust survivor

  16. I noticed that these posters are not accompanied by any disclaimers like the ones that Ms. Geller posted. I wonder why? These are clearly racist and false.

  17. Maybe instead we should end aid to South Africa instead. Tutu is a foreigner campaigning against US government policies – why hasn't he been declared Persona Non Grata and deported back to his racist country?

The Geller ads do us more harm than good.

  19. Yori Yanover says:

Define "Us." Geller has a war to the death with Islamist Jihadism. She takes Islamist fascism seriously and sounds the alert. What's the harm? She'll make them hate us even more? I'm pretty sure they've already hit 11.

  20. Charlie Hall says:

She is every bit of a hatemonger as the Islamists she attacks. And she is every bit as opposed to traditional Judaism — she is a proponent of the atheist hedonism of Ayn Rand. She is no friend.

  21. Yori Yanover says:

Charlie Hall — How about Ayn Rand's atheist Yidonism?

  22. Charlie Hall says:

"How about Ayn Rand's atheist Yidonism?"

Probably the single greatest danger, in terms of ideology, to traditional Judaism today.

  23. When you steal another's land they will use all available means to fight occupation and enslavement.

  24. How is Ms. Geller a hate monger? What does she say about Islam exactly? Seems to me that she is only quoting Muslims and what they say.

So in your mind quoting somebody is hate mongering? What a tiny mind you have

  25. Charlie Hall says:

Yes, quoting selectively can be hate mongering.

Here is what the ADL has to say:

It should be mentioned that her colleague Robert Spencer has been a big supporter of the Dutch politician Geert Wilders, who has moved on from his anti-Muslim rants to target kosher slaughter.

  26. Arie's Pragmatic Politics says:

Charlie Hall Charlie continues his defense of Jihad and excusing the global genocide that is its foundation. Your every post is in that vein Charlie. Geller is being forthright: EVERY global war today has been initiated in the name of Muslim extremism. Your comment that her posters do us "harm" shows you are similar to the Jew on line for the oven at Auschwitz reprimanding another Jew on line for his objection to being killed lambasting him "for starting trouble"

  27. This boils down to anti-semitism or anti-zionism. It's sad to see it getting so bad world wide but it is so obvious.

  28. Month by month, and week by week. The middle east spins more out of control. Iran continues unwavering on it’s march in the development of nuclear weapons and Assad the dictator of Syria is still in power. Current intelligence seems uncertain of when Iran will get the bomb and Israel cannot afford to gamble with this. Assad of Syria looks like he may be willing to use weapons of mass destruction against his own people and against near by nations as well. If this situation does not drastically change soon for the better, I believe the war in Isaiah Chapter 17 will likely take place. Damascus Syria would be destroyed. The worlds economy would likely collapse as a result and could usher in a one world government movement. I wrote a small 6 page book that outlines what I believe the Bible states will take place soon as well as the potential trends I see at this time. I don’t accept donations and it’s free. It’s a short read. I encourage you to have a look: http://www.booksie.com/religion_and_spirituality/book/richard_b_barnes/after-the-rapture-whats-next.

  29. Charlie Hall says:

    Arie's Pragmatic Politics

"Charlie continues his defense of Jihad"

Ah, I see that you have joined in the hatefest.

"EVERY global war today has been initiated in the name of Muslim extremism."

Wrong. The drug wars in Mexico have nothing to do with Islam. Nor does the continuing civil war in Columbia. Nor does the continuing civil war in Burma (Myanmar). The latter two are in fact the longest running wars in the world, with death tolls in the hundreds of thousands!

' Your comment that her posters do us "harm"'

You think that banning kosher slaughter isn't harmful to the Jewish community? That is one of the things that almost resulted from her supporters' actions! Haters don't discriminate.

  30. Charlie Hall says:

The railroad has no control over the content of advertising in its stations.

  31. Charlie Hall says:

"the black population in the USA is 80% anti-Semitic according to the Anti-Defamation League."

This is a lie. The number according to the most recent survey was 29%. That represents a decline since a similar survey in 2002. http://archive.adl.org/PresRele/ASUS_12/6154_12.htm

  32. Jim Jamieson says:

How many poles does that take?

  33. Richard, I do not think you understand the difference between Judaism and Zionism. While I hate Nazism and Fascism I do not hate Germans and Italians. Being against the actions and government of a country does do equate to hating the people of the country. Apartheid South Africa was hateful and destroyed while the people and country continue on. For the most part Jews rejected Zionism until 1948 and many religious Jews still reject a Jewish State. Zionism was created by non observant Jews who would never think of attending services. They went to Palestine to create a Jewish State in a country that was overwhelmingly non-Jewish. That was their original sin and it haunts them today because when they look at a Palestinian they know in their heart of hearts that this is the Palestinian's land. That is why Palestinians long to return while the vast majority of American Jews would never think of moving to Israel. When their children say "can we move to Israel?" they put them off by saying "next year"

  35. The ADL used to a human rights organization, but not anymore.

As for your quote – wasn't mine – so your wrong.

And yes Iran is aiding and abetting the drug trade in Latin America – you might want to get a few facts before making such an incorrect statement.

You ignorance is not proof of anything whatsoever
