European MDs Accuse US Pro-Circumcision Doctors of Bias

Thirty-eight physicians from Europe have written a paper alleging that “cultural bias” was behind the pro-circumcision stance of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The commentary, published on March 18 on the website of the U.S.-based Pediatric Journal, disputes a report which the American academy on children’s health published in August, which states that “benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks but the benefits are not great enough to recommend universal newborn circumcision.”
The European reply states that “seen from the outside, cultural bias reflecting the normality of non-therapeutic male circumcision in the United States seems obvious. The report’s conclusions are different from those reached by physicians in other parts of the Western world.”
The benefits attributed in the American report to circumcision — including protection against HIV, genital herpes, genital warts and penile cancer — are “questionable, weak, and likely to have little public health relevance in a Western context and they do not represent compelling reasons for surgery before boys are old enough to decide for themselves,” the European authors wrote.
In the U.S., a large percentage of non-Jewish males are circumcised, whereas in Europe the custom is limited almost exclusively to Jews and Muslims.
However, the European physicians that there is “some theoretical relevance”: to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ claim that circumcision may offer protection against urinary tract infections in infant boys,, Nevertheless, the Europeans added, “This “can easily be treated with antibiotics without tissue loss,” they wrote.
About half of the European physicians are from Scandinavian countries, where several political parties have stated their opposition to circumcision as a form of “child abuse,” or unwanted phenomenon of immigration by Muslims.

Really? I don't hate Jews. I just hate the concept of strapping a baby down and painfully cutting him with no anesthesia instead of letting him decide for himself when he's a man. That is not the same thing as experimenting on Jews, that's really the opposite.

These European doctors do not hate Jews, but Hashem who commanded circumcision. Jews get in the way when these bandwagon bullies are shaking their little fists at the Almighty.

The Europeans need to take Piers Morgan back and mind their own business. The United States is allowed to be different. Europe can have Obama as well.

Very easy to keep repeating that but there is ZERO evidence that these human rights focused scientists have any ill-intent.
ALL children have a basic human right to bodily autonomy, correct? Or do only the children of Jews NOT have that right?

To be sure, I am not against grown ups choosing to get circumcised.
Once someone is grownup they can cut off their nose if they like. But don't do that to the babies!
Then don't do it to yours! The greatness of living in Democratic value countries like Israel and the US: no one is forcing you to do anything. And that includes OUR rights to do as we believe our personal faiths dictate to us

And you speak for all, right? I find it amazing how some people believe it is their RIGHT to dictate to the rest of us how to observe our faiths. NO ONE is forcing you to circumcise your sons. And NO ONE is going to force me not to. Most of the men I know are circumcised and not one complaint. Preach as you wish. That is your RIGHT! Just as it is our RIGHT to disagree and refuse to follow your demands.
Such is the greatness of living in free countries like Israel and the US
Don't mix religion with science. Medical circumcisions are medical fraud. The Catholic church tried to silence Galileo. Don't make the same mistake they made. You have too much influence in the American medical industry. You cannot stop science; you can supress it, but in the end science will prevail. By taking your stance, you risk the same embarrasment the church faced over Galileo.

I have nothing against my Jewish brothers and sisters! I would stand up for anyone of them without even knowing them and that's what I'm voicing, I would not let someone be violated in my presents and do nothing! I can't do it!
Freedom of religion ends where some ones unconsenting body begins, human rights have no religion.
