“The attack was carried out in response to heavy machine-gun fire at the city of Sderot and a number of shooting incidents against IDF soldiers during the day,” the IDF announced.

According to the IDF Spokesperson’s announcement, four different targets were attacked in the Hamas military compound, including buildings and terror infrastructure.

Three additional targets were attacked at a weapons production facility.

Local reports identified one of the attacked sites as “the ship,” where damage was caused to the site and its surroundings. The IDF shelling earlier hit the site “Ashkelon,” which belongs to the Hamas Qassam Brigades.

According to local reports, one person sustained minor injuries and was evacuated to the hospital.

The IDF Spokesperson stated that “Hamas is solely responsible for what is happening in and out of the Gaza Strip.”
