The attack occurred near the Palestinian Arab city of Kalkilya in Samaria.

An Israeli motorist who was driving along the highway overnight said he saw a firebomb fly through the air on to the road and ignite, according to the Hebrew-language 0404 website.

A second motorist made a similar report to Israel Police but by the time a patrol car reached the site and scanned the area, the perpetrator was long gone.

The flames caused no damage and no one was hurt by the attack.

Recently an aide to Shas government minister Arye Deri was struck in one of two stone-throwing terror attacks from a bridge over Highway 6.

The rear window of the aide’s vehicle was hit as he was driving in the northbound lane, and sustained minor damage.

The rear windshield of a second vehicle that was struck was smashed.
