Israeli Border Guard Police officers prevented what could have been a major tragedy at an IDF military court on Wednesday when a teen terrorist-in-training from the Palestinian Authority was caught trying to smuggle two pipe bombs past a checkpoint leading to the court.

The wannabe terrorist was caught by the officers when he arrived at the checkpoint near the Arab village of Salem, in the Jenin district of Samaria and claimed that he had no identification papers.

Israeli security personnel immediately took the teen aside for a search. They quickly discovered the pipe bombs among his belongings.

Military sappers were promptly summoned to the scene to examine and defuse the explosives.

The suspect was turned over to security personnel for interrogation.
