2017 UN International Day of Happiness

The United Nations “Day of International Happiness” — an event that has taken place each year since 2013 — was marked Monday (March 20) with 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The UN reached out to the ‘Smurfs’ for assistance in explaining the goals to the public.

“The United Nations invites each person of any age, plus every classroom, business and government to celebrate the International Day of Happiness using hashtag #SmallSmurfsBigGoals,” the United Nations wrote in its statement.

The global event is seen as a way to recognize the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world.
