After a roadside bomb exploded near Otniel

Palestinian Authority security personnel discovered a string of 12 roadside explosive devices, each weighing approximately 40 kilos (88 lb), and connected to each other with electric cables, during overnight operations in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

The string of bombs was discovered along the road between the Palestinian Authority cities of Tulkarem, Atil and Illar.

The explosives were planted strategically to be detonated as IDF patrols were passing the area, according Arab media.

All of the IEDs were detonated in controlled explosions, with no injuries reported. The road was closed most of the day as sappers worked on the devices.

Gaza’s ruling Hamas terrorist organization has called for a new intifada in response to the recent recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by the United States.
