During a flood, like the one we’re having today, the upper part of the Zin Stream becomes a real river. The stream is winding fiercely then, crossing the highway in several spots, descending in a number of waterfalls and advancing towards the deep canyon of Ein Ovdat.

On its way, the hour-old river sweeps everything in its path. When it reaches the top of the waterfall, it destroys the fence and with it pours in extraordinary force into the canyon.

Ein Ma’arif, seen here, is without a doubt the most advantageous spot from which to see this kind of a flood in Israel.
