If you live in Brooklyn or anywhere in New York City, you have been experiencing a strangely warm winter so far. But that doesn’t mean that things won’t take a turn as winter is only just getting started. So let’s prepare with some essential winter accessories!

Snow Boots
My old snow boots are clunky and pretty ugly to be honest; in 2020 we actually have better choices. Try brands like Sperry, Sorel, Marc Fisher, and Cole Haan for options that are actually cute. This season you don’t have to make do with being freezing in unlined rain boots. These companies make boots that can withstand a blizzard comfortably while also being fashionable!

Hats
A hat is a necessity for staying warm in the winter. Personally, I’m a huge fan of slouchy beanies, particularly with a pom pom on it for an added element of fun. I’m wearing a Maniere New York beanie in the photo below, which I found in a local accessory store.

Gloves
I may or may not have a slight attachment to my phone, so I love gloves that allow you to easily text and talk. These convert to mittens and they’re great. The brand is Kate Spade, they come in a few different colors, and I like the cute but subtle bow detail.

Tights
Opaque bulletproof tights (only a slight exaggeration on the bulletproof description) are my go-to for winter. Last winter, I discovered fleece-lined tights for added warmth and they are definitely the best invention! Amazon has some great options and I always appreciate that I can read a ton of reviews before making my decision.
