Israeli fighter pilots bombed operatives in Gaza from the Jaish Al-Islam terrorist organization on Monday afternoon.

The air strike, which resulted from a joint Shin Bet – IDF operation, eliminated a terror cell that was planning an attack on Israel in the near future, according to security sources.

The IDF also targeted a concealed rocket launcher placed within a school in the Shujaiyya neighborhood in Gaza City, used to fire missiles at Israel earlier in the day.

Jaish al-Islam, also known as the ‘Army of Islam’ terrorist organization, is called the ‘Tawhid and Jihad Brigades’ as well — the name used by the Doghmush clan in Gaza. The Salafi Muslim terror group appears on the official United States list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. Its base is located in the Tzabra neighborhood at the very heart of Gaza, in the center of the region.

The Army of Islam is best known for having led the abduction of former IDF soldier Gilad Shalit in June 2006.

The group also kidnapped BBC journalist Alan Johnston in March 2007, and held him hostage until July of that year, when he was handed to rival Hamas officials in exchange for the release of captured Jaish al-Islam spokesman.

Although the group once challenged Hamas for control over the region, Hamas is now working closer together with Jaish al-Islam and is offering financial and other support to the group, Israeli intelligence sources said Monday.

Since midnight, nearly 90 rockets and missiles have been fired at Israel; a total of 823 projectiles have been launched at civilians in the Jewish State since Hamas violated the most recent temporary cease-fire eight hours before it was due to expire.

  7. Jeff Rudolph says:

thinks this might be great target practice for the IAF when they go after the Iranian nuclear reactors!

  8. Just curious, and Baruch HaShem EchaD for our boys and girls in the IAF but did netanyahu give them advance notice to get out before we bomb the crap out of buildings?

  9. JoAnn Morris says:

Hamas doesn’t give warnings, why should IAF be different..this is war.

  10. Ed Kaplan says:

If the bombs did not destroy all of Gaza, why did you stop?

  11. Moshe, both have advanced warnings… The difference is the IDF gives 10 minutes to Gaza in the form of text messages leaflets dropped and a shot that is a warning. Gaza people have time not only to evacuate the building but to get their cell phones out the recorder it… (hence the footage in Gaza shows the building way before the attack). The IDF also warns the Jewish people… The Iron Dome is able to notice the oncoming rocket… And sirens go off. Iron dome is able to calculate with the trajectory of the rocket where it’s going to land and intercept or not depending on where it’s going to land. Jewish people have 15 seconds to get to a shelter not 10 minutes… So one could say that the Gazan people have it better.

  12. Actually they do have it better, יהודית ברכה the reason is this, by giving our enemy advance notice of our bombing mission allows the muslim to live another day to kill us…by giving us, the Israelite advanced warning it gives us another moment in time to be a good parent a blessed parent, mother, father, man and women to live until the next rocket attack. Our notice is so we can live, there notice is so they can get ready to kill us once again.

  13. Yes IDF,IAF strike them relentlessly.
