Arab Terrorist Badly Injured in Foiled Stabbing of Border Policeman

Monday, June 4th, 2012

This evening an Arab terrorist in his early 20s tried to stab a Border Policeman at the Arab side of Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, the Tazpit news agency reports. The policeman was lightly injured, while the terrorist is in serious condition and received medical attention at the site.

The terrorist tried to stab the policeman in the neck, above the ear, with a large nail. The policeman retreated at the last moment and the Arab missed his mark.

A second policeman then shot the terrorist in his lower stomach and legs.

Earlier on Monday there was a violent demonstration in the same area of some 30 Arabs who attacked police with iron rods.

Probation to Policeman who Stole from Tzadakah Boxes

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

A Kfar Saba court yesterday sentenced a former member of the Border Police to six-months probation and 300 hours of community service for stealing around NIS 200 from some ten charity boxes which local synagogues keep in police stations in the Sharon area.

The former policeman was arrested three years ago, after a security camera captured him emptying out a charity box in the Kfar Saba police station. He admitted to committing at least ten more similar robberies, and was forced to resign from the force, after 21 years of service.

In January, a different member of the Border Police was arrested on suspicion of committing robbery and assault in Be’er Sheva, using his service weapon to force residents to hand over cash, jewelry and a cellular phone. And a month before, a Border Policeman was sentenced to 13 months in jail and 15 additional months’ probation for selling arms illegally.
