Three months ago, the IDF naval forces in collaboration with the Shin Bet, thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons into the Gaza Strip from the northern Sinai.

The IDF Naval Control Unit located the suspected smuggling vessel and pointed the fighters of Navy company 916 and the Navy’s Snapir special force in its direction.
Following a chase, the vessel with two terrorists onboard were arrested and taken for interrogation. The ensuing investigation revealed that the weapons were intended to be used by the Hamas’ terrorist commando naval forces.
These Naval monitoring operations help prevent the further arming of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, and directly damage the capabilities of the Hamas naval commando.
