For Obama, after all, it’s just another deal – an important one, to be sure, but at the bottom line, it’s another piece of history, his legacy in the books. For Israel, it’s an existential threat and thus for the Jewish People, it’s a question of their lifeline to their sole international refuge when the chips are down.
When one looks at the issue from THAT perspective, Jeremy, then yes – Netanyahu does indeed represent world Jewry when he stands at the podium to discuss the Iranian nuclear threat to Israel. Hitler certainly didn’t care whether Jews in Germany were observant or not, liberal or not, culturally assimilated or not, married to Jews or not.
