Sha'arei Tzedek Medical Center, in Jerusalem, Israel.

Rabbi Elisha Vishlitzky, 64, a prominent National Religious rabbi and cofounder of the Religious Zionist “core group” (Garin Torani) movement, was hospitalized Saturday night at the Intensive Care Unit in Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

The rabbi is head of the Mahut Beit Midrash and an influential rabbi at Machon Meir and also at Mercaz HaRav yeshiva in Jerusalem. Nearly a year ago he underwent a medical procedure at Shaare Zedek, where he was hospitalized for some time.

He has struggled with his health in recent months although tried to continue his regular classes. He even invited students to a room in Shaare Zedek, where he continued to teach while ill in bed.

He spoke before hundreds of participants at the recent Teshuva M’Ahava conference held by Yeshivat Machon Meir during the Ten Days of Repentance.

The public is asked to please pray for the full recovery and good health of Elisha ben Bella Bertha.
