Gaza’s economy declined in invert proportion to the rising number of death of Jews at the hands of Palestinian Authority terrorists. Then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon brought his expulsion land that rid Gaza of Jews, both civilians and soldiers, and brought a new reality for southern Israel and eventually metropolitan Tel Aviv – rocket fire from Hamas, generously equipped by Iran and financed by Iran and Qatar.

With war over, for the time being at least, Kerry comes to the rescue with the same failed weapon for peace that results in war – negotiations with an enemy that does not recognize negotiations.

His solution still is two states. “I believe that the situation now that has evolved will concentrate people’s minds on the need to get back to the negotiations and try and resolve the issues,” he told the BBC.

The witch’s brew being stirred up in Cairo is perfect for Mahmoud Abbas, who has established a unity government with Hamas.

The peacemakers, led by Kerry, have come up with the concoction of making believe that Hamas is not in the government with Abbas because its representatives are “technocrats” who simply are a-political professionals, and so what if Hamas runs the military, the police and the education system of incitement?

With Abbas as a front man, Hamas is demanding open borders – land, sea and air – while the United Nations is promoting a campaign for billions of dollars to rehabilitate Gaza. That is what it has been doing for years, pouring money into Gaza, promising that its projects are not used by Hamas, and blaming the alleged “siege” for leaving Hamas so helpless that it fires rockets at Israel because it does not have enough fuel and blaming Israel for Hamas not having enough cement while dozens of terror tunnels are built.

Kerry has an idea.

“What we want to do is support the Palestinians in their desire to improve their lives and to get food in and to open crossings and to reconstruct and have greater freedom.” He added that Hamas has a ”greater responsibility towards Israel, which means giving up rockets.”

He really thinks Hamas will disarm.

Hamas does not agree. “We’d take the life of anyone who tries to take the weapons of resistance.”

That sounds like a direct threat to Mr. Kerry.

But he is ready to negotiate. Maybe he will do so in a tunnel.
