The Prime Minister can try, but it won’t help much and probably would only make Israel look even worse in print.
Mahmoud Abbas, with the help of the media that Hersh attacked and with the help of Obama and his sidekick , U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, has manipulated himself into a suit-and-tie diplomat carrying a bomb camouflaged as an olive branch.
President Obama already has stated that the “Occupation” is an obstacle to peace, and Netanyahu’s calling settlers an “obstacle to war” is not going to help, even though it will be proven true if Israel ever has to carry out another expulsion such as it did in 2005 when it forced Jews out of Gaza and withdrew the army.
The best Netanyahu can do is hope that Hersh’s hope will come true.
