Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to make an announcement Sunday evening to clarify his plans for the foreign and defense ministries in the coming days.

Netanyahu is expected to relinquish the foreign affairs portfolio and appoint a new foreign affairs minister, while retaining the defense portfolio for himself.

He also traveled Sunday afternoon to Tel Aviv for a first meeting as defense minister at the Kirya military headquarters with IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot.
