At least six people were killed and three more injured after a large explosion rocked the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah on Saturday evening.

Four of the dead are members of the Izz a-Din al-Qassam military wing of Gaza’s ruling Hamas terrorist organization, according to Ynet, which reported the terror group blamed Israel for the explosion.

A Gaza source claimed the blast allegedly occurred when the six were trying to dismantle an unexploded IDF missile.

The victims were all taken to a local hospital, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which identified the dead as “martyrs.”

A ‘work accident’ usually refers to the premature detonation of a bomb under construction by a terrorist or team of terrorists.

The IDF said it did not know what caused the blast.
