Another great travel accessory is one that I wear. For years I used my trusty fanny pack whenever we traveled, but it was long ago deemed passé by my wonderful fashion advisers – my kids. While I get that fanny packs aren’t all that chic, what made them great was that they were a hands-free way of storing important items. Fast forward to 2015 and we have the FlipBelt, a micro-poly and lycra belt that comes in awesome colors and has a zillion little pockets that let you inconspicuously stash small items like ID, keys, money and even some cell phones. Best of all, the washable FlipBelt isn’t just great for traveling, it comes in equally handy for exercising, hiking or any other time you need to take along a few odds and ends but still need to keep your hands free.

While I know that vacations are by definition supposed to be work free, there are occasions when your job comes with you, even if it is just to catch up on an article or two while flying to your destination. While I love the portability of my iPad, there are definitely times when I miss having real keys under my fingers and, when it comes to traveling, my iWerkz folding keyboard is a real life saver. Folded in half, this little gizmo measures in at a very svelte three and a half by just under six inches, and it has the ability to connect via Bluetooth to either your smart phone or your tablet. While the location of a few keys, most notably the “b,” take a little getting used to, this keyboard, whose rechargeable lithium battery has a running time of 44 hours and a standby time of 30 days, is a great little workhorse that proves that good things come in small packages.

So grab your sunglasses, pack up your bags and get ready for some serious fun in the sun. I’ll be at the pool in my shvimkleid and will be more than happy to share my sunscreen with you!
