“What if a person found roosters, which do not lay eggs?” asked Shmuel.
“The finder only has to tend to them for a short time and then can sell them,” said Rabbi Dayan. “When the owner comes, the finder should return their value. To charge the owner the cost of feeding the roosters would almost negate the value of what is being returned.” (C.M. 267:22-24)
