  1. Infant circumcision has no place in 2012. Please allow sons to enter the covenant after age 18, if they choose.

  2. Jason Maas says:

We don't execute adulterous women or people who work on the sabbath anymore, the way we are commanded to in the Torah. We don't sacrifice animals and do burnt offerings on mountaintops or in temples anymore the way we did for generations, the way we are commanded to in the Torah. We have changed, adapted, and adjusted to modern societies. It is time to stop circumcising unconsenting babies.

If people want to be circumcised as some sign of piety, they can choose to do so once they reach adulthood. But it is wrong to permanently mark children's bodies with the signs of a faith they have no concept of, and no consent to. It is time for Jews to evolve on this issue as we have on so many others.

  3. Keith Rutter says:

Moses Maimonides admitted that circumcision was done to blunt sexual pleasure, and 8oo years later, that is still true. Allow ALL babies to become adult before asking them if they want to reduce the enjoyment they are entitled to have.

  4. It is one thing to circucise at eight days. It entirely another matter to circumcise when the boy is fourteen or eighteen. Has anyone honestly been able to claim that there are tramatised adults because of their circumcision? I certainly can't recall my eighth day. Can you?

    • Thing is, if you are an adult, you 1) CHOOSE to enter into the covenant, of your own free will; 2) you can have a circumcision done with ample anesthesia, including general anesthesia, and take appropriate pain medications, including codeine, morphine, or other narcotics to manage your pain (which are not given to neonates); 3) someone will explain to you exactly how the procedure will be done. So no, an adult will NOT be traumatised. A newborn infant, alive for only a few days, who has no idea about what/ why is happening and to whom it is impossible to explain that this is his parents' religion, and as such, he must abide by them, WILL BE TRAUMATIZED.

    • Hugh Intactive says:

Here are more than 200: http://www.circumstitions.com/Resent.html

    • Keith Rutter says:

I can't remember the event either, but now my penis is so insensitive I don't orgasm in intercourse. If that isn't traumatic, what is?

  5. Titti Karma says:

you wont cut your ear off because you might get an ear infection, so the medical reasoning of possible later infections/diseases is irrelevant.

Belzer wedding

The person who posted this item on You Tube made sure to belittle the event’s stats – 25,000 guests. They wrote: As huge as this wedding was, it is dwarfed by the nuptials of V.N. Sudhakaran and N. Sathyalakshmi, who hosted 150,000 guests on their Big Day in India in 1995. To which I can [...]

Straight forward halacha from the Web Yeshiva – because I was curious.
