The stakes in all this seem clear. It is a culture war – one that political conservatives and those who uphold traditional religious standards have been losing for years – over sexual identification and the differences or lack of same between the genders. And the acceptance of gay marriage is part and parcel of one side’s agenda.
That is why Professor Broyde is wrong and why the gay marriage ruling by the Supreme Court was, unfortunately, one more defeat for moral decency.
