What is needed by the Arab world and indeed by the entire civilized world, is a courageous leader who is willing to say speak these truths out loud. America is still, just barely, the leader of the free world. But America’s current leader is not up to this job.
Maybe Rabbi Hillel can help us here: he says that in a place where there is no man, no leader, no person prepared to take responsibility, we are all obliged to do just that.
