Emunah of America held its South Florida Annual Gala Dinner on Tuesday, February 26, at the elegant Miami Beach Resort and Spa on Collins Avenue.

The evening honored the memory of Menachem Stern, z”l, with a special tribute dedicated by his wife, longtime Emunah volunteer Adina Stern. Mr. Stern’s life story and accomplishments were well summarized by his daughter-in-law Trudy Stern.

Rabbi Donald Bixon of Congregation Beth Israel of Miami Beach presented Joshua Dobin, Leah Klein and Sara Shulevitz, three local attorneys and active community members, the Emunah Hakarat Hatov Award for their contributions to Emunah.

Mrs. Sara Gottlieb of Miami Beach served as chairman of the evening, supported by a committee of dynamic volunteers. The gala dinner emphasized the life-saving programs Emunah provides to young and old alike throughout a broad cross section of Israel’s population. A moving video highlighting the lives touched by Emunah’s services was enthusiastically received.

Israel’s consul general to Florida and Puerto Rico, Chaim Shacham, shared an inside view of the political and social realities facing Israel as it approaches its 65th birthday.
