Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Wife Sue Mag for Saying They Separated

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who is under investigation for links to a prostitution ring, and his wife, Anne Sinclair, say they’re filing a lawsuit against the French magazine Closer after it posted a report online Thursday saying they’ve been living apart and planning a divorce.

CBC News reported that Sinclair, Strauss-Kahn’s wife of two decades, who used to be a diva of French journalism, remained stoic throughout last year’s scandal, when her husband was facing allegations by an NYC hotel maid of sexual assault. The charges were dropped but Strauss-Kahn still faces a civil lawsuit in that case.

Closer reported that Sinclair had asked Strauss-Kahn to leave a month ago.

“For me, it is a definitive breakup,” Laurence Pieau, Closer’s executive editor, told the New York Times on Friday.

Sinclair is the online editor of the French edition of the Huffington Post.

In March, Dominique Strauss-Kahn was charged with involvement in a prostitution ring. Police are also investigating allegations that he sexually assaulted a Belgian prostitute in Washington D.C. in 2010.
