The Hamas terrorist organization’s “balloon unit” has threatened to begin launching “tear gas balloons” into Israeli territory next – that is, balloons carrying tear gas canisters.

The tear gas canisters have a fuse that when lit, sets off the container to release a huge amount of tear gas and smoke within a few seconds of ignition.

Recently Gaza terrorists have upgraded some of their balloon bombs – huge colorful clusters of balloons carrying improvised explosive devices, or homemade bombs – with an electronic mechanism that allows them to be set off remotely once they cross the border into Israeli territory.

One such balloon bomb landed on Sunday near a railroad in the southern Israeli city of Netivot, Ynet reported, causing security personnel to halt the trains in the area so the bomb could be defused safely by police sappers.
