The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee is meeting in an emergency session on Monday to vote on whether to approve the call-up of reserve Border Guard Police officers due to the current security challenges facing the country.

The meeting, called by committee chair MK Tzachi Hanegbi, will vote on whether to allow the IDF to call up 1,400 Border Guard Police.

If the motion is passed, the IDF will be authorized to call up for active duty increased forces to contend with the recent spike in terror attacks across the country.
