Despite the fact that the Jerusalem Police command has been pleased with the performance of its officers in two terrorist events on Friday and Saturday, one involving a stabbing attempt against a Border Guard officer, there will be an increase of the forces in the capital ahead of Passover, Israeli media reported Sunday morning. Police presence in the city is already reminiscent of times when the wave of terror was at its highest, and this week District Commander Major General Yoram Halevi may decide to add even more forces for the holiday.

Meanwhile, an IDF force overnight entered the home of 17-year-old Ahmad Zahir Fathi Ghazal who was killed by Border Guard officers Saturday afternoon. Also overnight, the IDF sealed a Shechem bookstore that was used to manufacture explosives and print incitement literature.

A Police source told Walla that both recent cases, one when Israeli forces shot and killed Siham Ratib Nimr, 49, from eastern Jerusalem on Friday, the other when Ghazal was shot dead on Saturday, involved “lone wolves,” and are not an indication of emerging organized attacks.

According to Intelligence sources, there is no indication of planned revenge attacks in response to the assassination of Hamas commander Mazen Fuqaha a week ago.
