New Head of Hamas Military Wing Takes Jabari’s Place

Marwan Issa has been named the new commander of Hamas’s military wing. Issa was the deputy of Ahmed Jabari who was killed yesterday in an Israeli air strike and buried after public mourning rituals in Gaza.

Issa headed  the Hamas military delegation that traveled to Tehran and Beirut last September and signed secret mutual defense pacts with Iran and Hizbollah.

Britain’s Foreign Office issued a statement following the targeted killing of Hamas terror chief Ahmad Jabari:

“We continue to call on all sides to exercise restraint to prevent a dangerous escalation that would be in no-one’s interests.”

Israel Destroys Missiles That Could Have Hit Tel Aviv

Israel has achieved a  major success by taking out Hamas’s Fajr-5 rocket capabilities which could have hit Tel Aviv. IDF is reporting that Hamas wanted to prove their capabilities due to Israel’s strike on Jabari, but are now almost completely powerless to hit anything further than 40KM from Gaza.

Three Rockets Hit Sderot. IAF Strikes Back (updated)

At 1:04 AM Wednesday morning, the red alert siren went off in multiple towns and cities in the south.

Three rockets were launched at Sederot. One rocket landed near a building, but there were no injuries. The rest landed in open areas.

The IAF responded a few minutes after, hitting a target in Gaza.

Update/Correction: Following reports from Palestinian sources that Hamas affiliated Ahmed Jabari was killed in the IAF strike, Palestinian radio announced that Jabari was not killed in the attack.
