Qatar Plays Both Sides Of The Net

Qatar is financing a planned ISIS counter-attack against Western allies in Iraq and Syria, according to an Egyptian government intelligence document obtained by KleinOnline.

The document claims Qatar provided ISIS with new weapons, including anti-aircraft missiles, for use in a surge against Western-allied forces in the coming weeks.

Qatar is a member of President Obama’s coalition fighting ISIS.

The U.S.-led coalition is also planning a surge against ISIS in the coming weeks.

However, informed Middle Eastern security officials say the strategy is partly dependent on cooperation from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

The officials told this reporter last week that both countries have asked the U.S. for an understanding that the strikes will also target the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in exchange for Turkish and Saudi cooperation.

The Obama administration seems unlikely to acquiesce to any requests to target Assad’s forces as part of the fight against ISIS.
