“I am leading this battle openly and with all my might…. Even [those on the center-left] are saying that they do not see [Mahmoud Abbas] conceding and signing an agreement. It is clear to the public that over the next few years nothing is going to happen with the PA. Israel must consider what measures to take, and in my opinion, this [plan] is the necessary course.”

This effort requires help not only from Katz’s political allies at home but also from Jews around the world. “World Jewry, and mainly the Jews of the U.S., support such a process and support Jerusalem,” he avers. “In the U.S., Israel’s friends will see this as something to fight for. They don’t want to be in a losing battle over small things, but to fight for the main thing.”
