I am proud that the Muslim streets are filled with barbaric, angry rabble burning effigies of George W. Bush and calling America “The Great Satan.” I am proud that Osama Bin Laden and his followers yearn to murder all 300 million Americans with the same cold-blooded terror they exhibited against 3,000 innocent people on 9/11. I am proud that virtually the entire Arab/Muslim world finds our culture, values and ideals despicable. Along the way, we have become “The Ultimate Hated Nation.” Why?

What did the United States do to deserve such massive hostility? The foolish Left and The New York Times keep pointing to Middle East policy vis-a-vis Israel; our wealth; our support of Saddam in the 80’s; our backing the Saudi regime; our helping the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan; oil; greed; arrogance; and a thousand other anti-American excuses.

History has proven that the most evil ideologies will always focus on the destruction of the morally good. Nazism and Communism — and now Islamic fundamentalism — initially focused on Jews. Jew-hatred has been an early warning signal for the decent people of the world that trouble is brewing. While sick, vile belief systems usually begin with attacking the Jews, they are never satisfied with merely annihilating this one tiny group. The effort simply continues onward towards their greatest obstacle. In this case, a hatred and destructive desire for the defeat of the world’s supreme moral power, America.

Initially, Judaism had the audacity to tell the world, “Thou Shalt Behave!” Now America has the audacity to enforce it. And the once powerful Islamic universe is powerless. No wonder the vast majority of Arabs and Muslims hate us with such fervor.

In addition, Israel’s incredible successes over the past 50 years and the Islamic world’s thorough failures during that same period are unbearable realities to confront. Making matters worse, we see the total world domination of virtually every positive area by secular yet Christian America (not an oxymoron), proving quite definitively that the present Muslim religious system is “fundamentally” flawed.

When a religion or an ideology espouses colossal greatness and is proven to be rather weak competition, the outcome for believers is quite painful.

One billion people who, despite an impressive military history and influential past, are continuously outperformed by a few million Jews — and, moreover, find themselves chastised by Christians in America like George W. Bush. That is the definition of shame and humiliation for modern Islam.

Yet the Islamic world has chosen to deal with this situation through anger and terrorism, similar to a soft drink company blowing up all its competitor’s manufacturing plants. Especially
disturbing to these Islamicists is the fact that their younger generation overwhelmingly abhor Muslim values and, when exposed to our way of life, long to drink from the American lifestyle represented by the Coca-Cola generation.

Modernity has forced the Muslim world to lose all dominance and provided the West with an opportunity to develop, grow and surpass even the wealthiest oil rich countries. This is the essential reason why much of the Islamic world is rebelling against technology, innovation,
television and the 21st century. They have been decimated by progress and therefore have a misguided kinship with their past.

Human beings harbor a natural jealousy toward people who do better, are more talented or have achieved greater successes. However, when a religion or ideological belief system is left in the dust, the jealousy turns to vicious hatred. Bin Laden is loved because he exposed an American vulnerability and weakness to a people with a flawed mindset. Saddam too was cherished and thought to possess a similar talent for standing up to America and outlasting its victorious president. Not this time. The strongest Arab army was vanquished in a cakewalk.

When a one-eyed Jew named Moshe Dayan and an overweight Jew named Ariel Sharon defeated the Arab nations in 1967 and 1973, it was certainly an embarrassment to Muslims. If
anything, there was even more consternation among Muslims when a skinny politician with glasses named Rumsfeld and a religious Christian ‘cowboy’ named Bush defeated both
Afghanistan and Iraq with surprising ease, The demonstrations in the streets of Indonesia, Malaysia and other Islamic nations against Bush continue to be all the opposition they can muster. Amazingly, Jew-hatred continues to run rampant throughout these countries, even though no Jews live there and most of their citizens have never seen a real, living Jew. The Jews have always been a lightning rod for the evildoers of the world. Now America has become the magnet attracting those same forces. There must be a divine “charge” for this phenomenon. It has no other rational explanation.

The criticism of America by fraudulent religious leaders is astounding and reprehensible. The political leadership of those countries is not much saner, realizing that success can only be
achieved through terrorism or Nazi-like propaganda. As terrorism becomes more difficult to execute, they move on to the insoluble Israeli-Palestinian issue, always linking it with responsibility and blame for America.

Instead of wondering why we are hated, Americans should be cheering. When evil — represented by the likes of Hitler, the former Soviet Union, Saddam and Bin Laden — hates you, you know you’re doing something beautiful and moral.

It was on Bin Laden’s now infamous tape that we heard his boast that he “would destroy the Jews and the Americans.”

My personal response to Bin Laden: I am proud to be a double target.
