Al Quds reporter Said Arikat at State Dept. Daily Press Briefing. Dec.9, 2015.

Arikat’s progressive feminist, Khalida Jarrar, was sentenced to 15 months as the result of a plea bargain. Jarrar is a prominent member of the marxist-leninist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) revolutionary group which advocates and has engaged in terrorism. Jarrar was charged with incitement, not some “sort of really made-up kind of charges” and not because she “refused to leave her home in Ramallah.”

MR KIRBY: I would refer you to Israeli authorities on this. At least Kirby did not simply agree with Arikat’s characterization of Jarrar’s sentencing.  A small victory for the truth.  Very small.

But Arikat was, once again, as he is on a depressingly regular basis, permitted to engage in his highly partisan and political harangues. There is no other reporter who engages in such overt over-the-top manipulative questioning or lobbying. That no one cuts him off is difficult both to stomach and to fathom.
