US President Barack Obama, speaking in a pre-Super Bowl interview with NBC Sunday, said he does not think that Israel has decided whether to launch a military strike on Iran’s nuclear program.

“I don’t think that Israel has made a decision on what they need to do. I think they, like us, believe that Iran has to stand down on its nuclear weapons program,” Obama said.

As to whether the United States would get advanced notice of a potential strike by Israel, Obama refrained from answering the question directly, stating instead that “we [the US and Israel] have closer military and intelligence consultation between our two countries than we’ve ever had. We are going to be sure that we work in lockstep as we proceed to try to solve this — hopefully diplomatically.”
