Israel’s Ministerial Committee for Legislation has approved the Override Power Bill, which if approved by the Knesset will allow lawmakers to re-approve by a simple majority of only 61 Knesset members laws that were struck down by the High Court of Justice.

The proposed measure now goes to the floor of the Knesset for a vote by the plenum, most likely this Wednesday.
