A man entered the renowned Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston Tuesday, Jan. 20, and shot a doctor. The doctor, a cardiac surgeon, was rushed to surgery by his colleagues.

The suspect died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds, according to reports from various Boston-based media.

The shooting took place in the Shapiro Building of the hospital, where the cardiovascular unit is located.

The victim is in critical condition.
