The Shin Bet, Israel’s domestic intelligence agency, has confirmed that Mohammed Merah, the man responsible for the murders of 7 people last week, visited Israel in 2010.

According to a Shin Bet investigation, Merah entered Israel via the Allenby Bridge from Jordan, prior his travels to Afghanistan, in September 2010. The investigation also revealed that the Shin Bet questioned Merah, but having found nothing to arouse suspicion, permitted him to enter Israel.
