Abourezk also describes having a meal with George Habash, founder and former head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.  The PFLP is a Marxist-Leninist terrorist organization whose goal is the total destruction of Israel, and its approved methods are violent.

One of the PFLP’s most “celebrated” acts of terrorism was the hijacking on June 16, 1976, of an Air France plane which was then diverted to Entebbe, Uganda.  Yes, that hijacking. The PFLP was also responsible for the bloodiest attack on Israel’s airport (then called Lod before being renamed Ben Gurion Airport) in 1972, in which 26 people were killed and nearly 100 were wounded.

Abourezk refers to Habash as “a very distinguished and intelligent person.”

Of course Abourezk’s March, 2012 CNI article is written as if it is a dark comedy piece in which he reveals the real terrorists as – you guessed it! Menachem Begin and Meir Kahane.

So why is the Sioux Falls Democratic Forum sponsoring Weir to talk with them on September 27 at noon, in the local Veterans of Foreign Wars hall?  That is the right question to ask. But who is the right person to ask?

The only publicly available information about the S.F.D.F. is found on the Minnehaha Democrats of South Dakota website, where it is listed as one of the “Democratic organizations” in the area.  If you click on the link for the Democratic Forum you are taken to a single page which shows former senator Abourezk guffawing with another former politician, and includes the information that the Forum meets every Friday at the VFW in Sioux Falls.

The local World Affairs Council pulled its sponsorship from Weir’s appearances in the South Dakota area – she is also scheduled to speak at two area colleges – and both CNI and Weir’s IAK are already lambasting the WAC as being the dupe of that omnipresent fall guy, the “Israel Lobby.”

Unfortunately, many pro-Israel advocates cower from such critiques.  A source told The Jewish Press that at least one “pro-Israel Democrat was too intimidated to take on” the forces behind Weir.

And so the haters of Israel shout from behind the shields they created and lob claims of “Israel lobby” against those who dare to challenge the lies.
