One illuminating Talmudic Midrash (TB Menachot 29b) in this connection consists of Moses being granted a glimpse into the future and sitting in upon Akiva’’s class lecture without fully grasping its content. When told that this is Torah as it was currently understood upon further interpretation “in every jot and tittle with mounds of halachot”, Moses leaves with a satisfied fulfilling silence, appreciating the spiritual process of deeper understanding in action. Gersonides both respected and acted in the direction of such a deeper ongoing understanding.
