Eleven people were injured by a motorist who plowed into a crowd in southern France. The driver yelled "Allahu Akbar" as he attacked. Dec. 21, 2014

On Sunday, Dec. 21, a 40-year old man drove his car into a crowd while shouting “Allahu Akbar” (“Allah is great”). The attack took place in the eastern French city of Dijon. Eleven people were injured in the attack, two of whom were in serious condition.

Agense France Presse reported that a source said the man was “apparently imbalanced and had been in a psychiatric hospital.”

However, there were sources reporting that the car drove into crowds at several different locations, all while the person or persons inside the car screamed “Allahu akbar.”

On Saturday, Dec. 20, a French Muslim was shot dead after attacking three police officers with a knife. This man also shouted “Allahu Akbar” while stabbing the police officers. This attack took place in the town of Joue-les-Tours.
