IDF soldiers opened fire at three Gazans late Sunday night after they broke through the border security fence and infiltrated into southern Israeli territory.

The soldiers said one of the terrorists was hit and wounded by the gunfire, the Hebrew-language military 0404 news site reported.

IDF soldiers spotted the infiltrators as they were damaging the security fence, and shot the trio as they crossed into Israel.

Earlier in the evening, two Gaza Arabs who crossed into Gaza through the border fence were caught by IDF soldiers.

All infiltrators were transferred to security forces for questioning.

IDF troops will remain deployed at the Gaza border for the time being, according to the IDF, due to the ongoing risk of infiltration and terror attacks from Hamas and allied terror groups.
