Carney: US to Continue Iran Talks Despite Ship Seizure

By:
White House Press Secretary James "Jay" Carney sees nothing wrong in continuing to pursue a diplomatic resolution with the world's biggest exporter of terrorism.

White House Press Secretary James "Jay" Carney sees nothing wrong in continuing to pursue a diplomatic resolution with the world's biggest exporter of terrorism.

The United States will continue taking part in negotiations with Iran over the Iranian nuclear program, despite a recent Israeli seizure of an Iranian ship carrying weapons to Gaza.

White House Spokesman Jay Carney acknowledged Wednesday that Iran’s state sponsorship of terror has continued during the talks. He also said that the U.S. “will continue to stand up to Iran’s support for destabilizing activities in the region, in coordination with our partners and allies, and [make] clear that these illicit actions are unacceptable to the international community and in gross violation of Iran’s [United Nations] Security Council obligations,” according to the Times of Israel.

But Carney said that despite Iran’s terror sponsorship, “it’s entirely appropriate to continue to pursue the possibility of reaching a resolution on the nuclear program,” in negotiations between Iran and Western powers.

On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces intercepted an Iranian ship laden with weaponry and bound for terrorist organizations in Gaza. Carney confirmed that U.S. intelligence had cooperated with the IDF on the operation.

  1. Israel stands alone when it comes to doing the right thing, GOD WILL BLESS AND PROTECT ISRAEL, HE DID NOT BRING THEM HOME THIS TIME TO SCATTER.

  2. Of course, Obama’s on their side anyway…

  6. the united states has been in free fall since the moment this dangerous lunatic was elected. each day it drifts further into the abyss of fake history and racist provocations from this psycho who hates whites, hates Jews, hates america.

I thought you had gotten some sense. Wrong agaiin

  8. Who is so very stupid to have EVER thought Iran was going to back down from their original plan in the first place???…….That would be to destroy the state of Israel for starters.

  9. Bonnie Stein says:

I could not say it better. It is an outrage. Obama has failed America and the Jewish people.

  10. Our government, which I do not support on any issue, has lost its mind, if it ever had a rational one. Consider that 'Barack Obama' in Hebrew means 'lightning on the high places of idolatry'. All kidding aside, the name fits the thinking and the behavior. I think many people have abandoned all rationality as some kind of leap into the future, and the US government reflects this mentality too well.

This is how dum they are right here .. Well not us but our representatives of our country no back bone at all know wonder Russia laughing in our face

  13. Judith, I am inclined to think that the current occupant of the White House fits the description of the lawless one described by the Prophet Daniel and by St. Paul the evangelist. I have good reasons to believe this. Mr. Obama and his crew get worse every day, so that it is hard to imagine a real future unless they are removed from office. They appear to be intentionally leading us toward a disaster which they are planning for their own gain, while the man appears impervious to any criticism or correction. It is beyond politics.

  14. Anthony Kent says:

I love the was most Americans are slagging off Obama. If you pinned a stars and stripes to a donkey and said it was Democrat, the majority of (liberal) Jewish Americans would vote for it rather than go Republican. Well guys, you got what you deserved.

  15. Mary Hance says:

    g-d bless israel
