An Ethiopia-born model won the fifth season of Israel’s “Big Brother” reality show.

Tahunia Rubel, 25, won the 1 million shekel prize, worth about $274,000, becoming the second woman to win on the show.

Many conflicts surrounded Rubel, including some dealing with race and ethnic identity. Some of the racial conflict reportedly caused two other contestants, a father and son, to be disqualified.

Earlier this year, an Ethiopian immigrant to Israel, Yityish Titi Aynam, 21, was crowned Miss Israel.

I am assuming these Ethiopians are Jewish, so I suppose you mean "smarter than Israeli born Jews."

  3. Nice to see Ethiopian Jews with good news. Winning Miss Israel, Israeli Idol, and now this. Good for them.

Alana Ronald Let us assume what you say is right.
First did you see how you refere to them? these Ethiopians …. So which one do you believe … are they Ethiopian or Israelits?

Second how do you explain the following news about what is done by your …… ?

I can post more of these if you want. Remember, in those news it says Ethiopian community not Ethiopia-born israeli. woooowowoow …. not good … you deny they are israeli when the thing that happen is bad … you claim they are Ethiopian-born israeli when you want ….

Madness … it seems you (israelis) are confused about this community.

Anyway, I am happy that a person grow up in Ethiopia excels … and feel bad that you are confused on what to do with this community.

    Good luck any way!
