Peres to Decorate Obama with Award for Supporting Israel

President Barack Obama will be the American president ever to receive the Israeli “presidential decoration” when he visits next month, the office of President Shimon Peres announced Monday.

The award will be represented at a gala dinner at President’s Peres’ official Jerusalem residence.

“President Obama has stood by Israel in the toughest of times, promoted Israeli arms development and reinforcement, for example ‘Iron Dome’ systems,” Peres’ office said.

“The President in renowned for his faith in equality without discrimination and standing up for the lower classes. He has promoted American Democracy and world peace, and is a role model of leadership.”

    Are you serious? No other President of my country, the US, has treated Israel so poorly. Mr. Obama deserves nothing more than common respect as a head of state and that is all. Mr. Obama has turned on America and Israel – his only concern is for Middle Eastern Influence and that does not include Israel.

    I think it only fair that Obama, reciprocate and present Shimon Peres a "Peace prize " for bringing the Oslo Accords as a beacon of peace to Israel. Somehow there is a perverse similarity to these hypocritical and destructive gestures. When Obama aids Israel in the destruction of Iran's nuclear capability, genuine prizes will be in order and more important, Israel's survival with be insured. Jerome S Kaufman.
