You just never know which word will get someone to change his or her life.

I remember the first time I was able to convince a family in our community to observe the mitzvah of Mikvah. I was so nervous to discuss it with them and I had all the excuses lined up for them: They won’t be interested; they will certainly refuse; they will offer such and such an excuse. Nevertheless, I worked up the courage and brought up the subject at a setting I felt was appropriate. Within thirty seconds the wife agreed. Apparently she was ready and just needed to be asked. If I hadn’t said a word, nothing would have happened.

Emor! When you’re thinking something nice about someone – say it; when you have a shidduch idea – bring it up, even if it sounds ridiculous; and when there is even just a one-percent chance that your words will inspire someone to “take the leap” and do something that will please Hashem, say it.

Say it – you won’t regret it.
