The study abroad program at American University in Washington, D.C. gave the green light to Israel programs this year.

Sara Dumont, AU’s Director of Study Abroad said that in her opinion “there is no reason to cancel the programs for the fall.”

“Israeli universities have dealt with serious security concerns for a long time. They keep a careful watch on the students and have all kinds of sophisticated plan in place in case of an emergency,” Dumont said.

Let’s hope more directors of study abroad programs have the sekhel that AU’s director has.
